16 successful oil finds in less than 5 years, more than 6 billion barrels of oil reserves, multi-billion barrels of additional exploration potential, 3 FPSOs awarded and production ahead of schedule in December 2019 make a phenomenal case for the Guyana-Suriname Basins. The United States Geological Survey has estimated 13.6 billion barrels of oil and 32 trillion cubic feet of natural gas could lie in the Guyana-Suriname Basins, making it the 2nd most prospective, under-explored offshore oil basins in the world.

Guyana's petroleum sector is growing quickly in popularity and importance among oil & gas companies and investors, offering a multitude of opportunities locally, regionally and internationally. It is right therefore that Georgetown should be the host for GBS 2021
